The Rose Quarter is a sports and entertainment events district in Portland, Oregon. It features two multi-purpose arenas, the Moda Center and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It is home to the Portland Trail Blazers (NBA), the Portland Winterhawks (WHL) and hosts concerts, ice shows, conventions, trade shows, professional wrestling, and other forms of sports and entertainment.
Working with Rip City Management, the goal was to design and develop a beautiful website experience, prioritizing mobile-first, accessibility, and performance while increasing engagement. In addition, the website needed to feature a dynamic and scalable event management engine that could handle the venues' complexities.
The process was an agile, four-phased approach of discovery, design, delivery, and support. This included interviews with stakeholders, wireframes, click-through prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for desktop and mobile. Delivery involved website development, CMS development, SEO optimization, testing, integration, and deployment.
The launch of the new Rose Quarter website has been a success, both internally and externally—enhancing administrative efficiency, brand awareness, user engagement, conversions, and ticket sales.
